After almost a year of being engaged, celebrity couple Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo finally tied the knot early Tuesday morning, April 28 at San Juan Nepomuceno Church in San Juan, Batangas.

The private ceremony, which was closed to the media, started at around 7 a.m. and ended after an hour.

The wedding was officiated by Fr. Tito Caluag, the couple's spiritual adviser.

The couple's principal sponsors include -- Mon Isberto, Smart Communications spokesman; Bien Bautista, Ace photographer; Benjie Gonzales, Ryan's uncle from the US; Susie Entrata-Abrera, TV Host; Rory Quintos, TV & Movie Director; and Jane Buencamino, Judy Ann's road manager.

Megastar Sharon Cuneta, Santos' "sister-in-showbiz", was the matron of honor while Agoncillo's brother, Dondi, stood as best man.

Some of the country's top singers performed during the ceremony. Agot Isidro sang the song "Runaway" while Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid sang "The Prayer" during the offertory.

Isidro and Alcasid performed "One Hand, One Heart" during Communion.

The ceremony was attended by the couples' families and closest friends in and outside showbiz. Spotted at the event were Santos' mother, Carol, Senator Francis Pangilinan, KC Concepcion, Suzy Entrata, Paolo Abrera and directors Joyce Bernal and Rory Quintos.

As of posting time, the newly wed couple and their visitors are headed to an undisclosed private resort for the reception.

As early as last night, the couple and some of their guests were already spotted near the church to make sure that they will be present for the early wedding ceremony.

The couple decided to marry at daybreak to signal the new start in their lives as a married couple.

Agoncillo and Santos were first paired in the teleserye "Krystala" where their romance blossomed. They have starred in two movies together, "Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo" and "Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo" -- both of which have been heavy earners at the tills.

Their next project for ABS-CBN is the teleserye "George & Cecil."

Agoncillo proposed marriage to Santos on her 30th birthday last year. They revealed the engagement a month later.

The couple have been mum about the actual date of their wedding with some news reports saying that the wedding was scheduled on May 2.

Santos earlier said they plan to go to Mexico for their honeymoon, according to an SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon report.

Santos, who turns 31 on May 11, has an adopted daughter named Johanna Lois or Yohan.

George and Cecil will be the newest romantic comedy show on abs-cbn channel 2 that will bring back two very popular team-ups - (1) engaged couple Judy Ann Santos & Ryan Agoncillo and (2) Judy Ann Santos & Gladys Reyes of Mara Clara fame. Judy Ann and Ryan were last seen together on primetime tv in the teleserye Ysabella. Before that, they did Krystala where their real-life romance actually started.

Who could ever forget the tandem of Judy Ann Santos and Gladys Reyes from Mara Clara days where the search for a measly diary took five long years. Even so, the popularity of that classic television series could not be surpassed. Anyways, that sort of plot is now obsolete because one can observe from the current teleseryes that everything is now fast-paced.

We can just imagine how excited the two stars were when they learned that they will do not only one show together again, but two.

“Yes nakakatuwa kasi dalawang shows yung magkasama kami ni Gladys and talagang na-miss namin ng bonggang-bongga ang isa’t-isa. Dun sa nurserye, parang pina-reenact ulit ni Direk Wenn (Deramas) yung eksena namin sa Mara Clara na nagsampalan at nagsabunutan. Talagang after the scene may mga kalmot kami pareho,” said the actress during the taping of George and Cecil in Antipolo last Friday, March 20.

Judy Ann further shared how she and Gladys have established an understanding when it comes to doing fight scenes—something which they have perfected after playing rivals for so long. “Gano’n naman kami ni Gladys. We don’t have any fight instructor. Basta bago lang yung eksena, ‘Mare ito na ‘to. Sorry na ha.’ Walang issue sa amin kung magkasakitan kami. Nagkabuhol-buhol na yung buhok namin nung ginawa namin yung eksena tapos hapung-hapo lang kami. Talagang sabi namin, 'Matanda na tayo ‘day.’ Hingal na hingal kasi kami.” And yet they merely laughed at the bruises they’ve acquired while working on their reunion project. “Si Gladys ang daming pasa sa tuhod kasi hindi ko napansin na natulak ko siya. Tapos yung sabunot niya sa buhok ko mga tatlong araw parang may pasa yung anit ko,” she happily recounted.

Viewers will also get to see that these two can be the best of friends on cam. “Opposite naman ng Habang May Buhay yung characters namin sa George and Cecil. Pareho kaming pulis na magbarkada. Siya naman yung kaibigan ko na madaming frustrations sa husband niya at sa biyenan niya. Kaya kapag may nahuhuli siyang tao na masama binubugbog niya, dun niya inilalabas lahat ng galit niya. Isipin mo maliit na babae nambubugbog ng malalaking mama, yung ganon. Breather din para sa aming dalawa.”

George and Cecil will be a weekly sitcom on abs-cbn channel 2 and will be aired every Sunday, directed by Joey Reyes.

Habang May Buhay Updates

So ... it's been a long, long, long time since we've heard anything about Habang May Buhay. There were talks that this most awaited first ever nurse-serye will start airing by February. Well ABS-CBN has released its line-up of new shows for February and Habang May Buhay doesn't happen to be one of them. Too bad. It's been more than a year now since lead star Judy Ann Santos and the rest of the cast and crew started taping their scenes, mostly in the U.S., and it's sad to think that up to now, there is still no definite date of showing. No one can tell when! Not even ABS-CBN ... not even Judy Ann's manager, Alfie Lorenzo ... not even Wikipedia! (Wikipedia's article on Habang May Buhay says, "... This article or section contains information about a scheduled upcoming television series. ... It may contain non-definitive information based on advertisements, a website or interviews. The information may change as the date of the series premiere approaches.") It's starting to get so frustrating, thinking that Tayong Dalawa, which only started taping late last year has now been on air for two weeks! I have nothing against Tayong Dalawa. It is a wonderful, high-quality TV production with a good storyline and powerhouse cast, but I hope Habang May Buhay will also be given the same kind, if not a better treatment that it deserves, considering its lead star is one of ABS-CBN's moneymakers and a premiere actress at that!

Kahit isang taon igina­rahe si Juday at hindi napanood sa nurserye niyang one year na in the making -- naging reyna si Juday ng mga commercial. Pinakamaraming commercials si Juday na nakasuporta sa mga programa ng GMA network at ABS-CBN.

Halos nagkakasabay pa ang labas ng commercials ni Juday sa dala­wang network. And ‘yang tumatakbo ang Fitrum niya, sa kabila naman ang Pride soap niya -- then Maggi Magic Sarap, Lactasyd, Pantene. Nagpapaligsahan ang Fitrum at Pantene sa dami ng exposures sa dalawang network.

Kung kelan palipad uli si Juday for Hollywood ay saka inaapurang magteyping ito. Nu’ng hindi paalis si Juday, naka-relax lang ang staff and crew ng Habang May Buhay na ngayon ay may bago na namang direktor in Wenn Deramas. Kasi, magtatapos na ang Dyosa at walang assignment si Wenn kaya sa kanya ibinigay ni Enrico Santos ang nurserye ni Juday na nagsimulang Habang May Buhay, naging Humingi Ako Sa Langit (ng mga bagong direktor kaya?) at ibinalik sa Habang May Buhay. Enero 2008 nang mag-roll sa San Francisco ang nurserye cameras under Direk Mark Meily (of Baler) na pinalitan si Jeffrey Jeturian as original director. Pagbalik ng pilipinas, si Jerry Sineneng na ang direktor with Andoy Ranay. And now, si Wenn naman. Kelan kaya magte-takeover naman si Rory Quintos na dating direktor ni Juday sa past tele­seryes niya?

Nu’ng Huwebes nang gabi dumating si Juday mula Hollywood, at kinabukasan ay tuloy na siya ng taping ng Habang May Buhay nurserye na si Direk Jerry Sineneng pa ang nagdidirek, tapos li­lipat na siya sa bagong ibang serye at maiiwan kay Direk Wenn Deramas ang Juday-Derek nurserye. Kung matutuloy ang usapan sa mismong birthday ko sa penthouse ng Imperial Pa­lace Suites ay may bagong karakter ang papasok sa nurserye at bagong artista, na bagong katambal for Juday ang aming iiintrodyus. Alam n’yo naman si Juday, pag nalahian niya ng suwerte ay biglang sumisikat ang isang unknown. What more kung sikat na itong ipapareha kay Juday eh mas bongga at malakas ang laban! Nire-request pang magtey­ping si Juday ng ilang episodes for Your Song since hanggang nga­yong linggo na lang ang kina Kim-Ge­rald, kasi, concentrated na sila sa Ta­yong Dalawa.

Ewan ko ba kung bakit eksaktong 13 -14 years ago eh nagkakapareho ang mga pangyayari. Naging guest namin ni Inday Badiday sa Eye to Eye ang baguhang si Candy Pangilinan na nagpelikula na at lumiban muna sa mga impersonator’s act niya. Ang pinu-promote niyang movie from Viva Films ay ang Habang May Buhay starring Donna Cruz. 14 years after, nagteteyping ngayon si Candy Pangilinan sa nur­serye ni Juday na ang title ay Habang May Buhay rin! Ang role ni Candy rito ay misis ni Michael Conan. Bwahahaha!!!!! Siguro nga, habang may buhay, hindi dapat mawalan ng pag-asa. Mapupulot at magagamit mo pa rin ang gamit na gamit na!
